Khatereh is an experienced urban designer, registered professional planner, and landscape architect. For more than 15 years, she has helped institutions, cities, and communities imagine what's possible and transform those ambitions into places that shape how people live, learn, connect, and belong.
Her work spans several award winning campus master plans, waterfront revitalization, urban regeneration, mixed-use districts, and public realm strategies across Canada, bringing together design excellence, long-term vision, and a deep commitment to creating resilient, people-centered communities. She is particularly passionate about the role of design in addressing society’s most pressing challenges, from housing and climate adaptation to social inclusion and community well-being.
An IAP2-certified engagement practitioner, Khatereh is known for bridging bold ideas with meaningful collaboration, using engagement not as a project requirement but as a catalyst for better outcomes. Through listening, strategic facilitation and storytelling, she helps diverse stakeholders build consensus around ambitious futures.
Beyond practice, Khatereh is an active voice in the design profession as a speaker, guest lecturer, juror, and mentor. She currently serves on the City of Markham Design Review Panel (DRP) and is committed to advancing a more innovative, inclusive, and impactful future for planning and design.
